Feature Friday: The Best of Custom Wall Designers

Posted on: September 19, 2014 by admin
It is always great to see the different ways people use wallpaper to create looks fit their lifestyles. As you know, wallpapers of all styles add personality, charm, and individuality to different areas of the house. We have a friend in North Carolina who just so happens to use our wallpaper in her designs, and we are lucky enough to share some of those images with you today. Take a look at the photos below, and get some great inspiration for your next big design project! This beautiful wallpaper that Vicki used in a bathroom is great for a luxurious, hotel-like feel. The paper is dark enough so that any messy hands or bodies won't splatter mud or dirt on the walls. As you can see, this room is well lit which works wonders with darker colored wall papers like this one! For a bathroom that has a little less light, this pattern works wonders to completely brighten up the space while retaining a sense of style and individuality. Notice how the tans in the sink and mirror frame are picked up within the design and colors of the wallpaper. A lighter, airier wallpaper is perfect for a bathroom that has little or no natural lighting. If you are a little more daring, or want something fun for a children's bathroom, this print is fantastic. It is nice and bright so that even at night, little toes won't hit the tub or sink, and any light you put in it will naturally bounce off the colors. This print is a great way to add some whimsy to the room, especially if you pair it with fun accessories like the handles and mirror seen here! The best way to make a great impression when a person first enters your house is to have an amazing bathroom. If you think about it, if you have a guest, he or she will almost always use the bathroom. This tree-inspired wallpaper makes such a statement when paired with the modern chandelier and the sky light. Note that this bathroom is very open, the same wallpaper might be overwhelming on a smaller bathroom. This ombre-inspired wallpaper is great for a bathroom that might just be a small powder room in the downstairs of your house. Notice how she went simple with the rest of the decor - pure white porcelain sink and toilet to brighten against the darker browns and tans of the wallpaper. If you aren't brave enough to try a bolder pattern, this may be a great choice. If you are pretty bold, but still not brave enough to try some of the crazier prints, these fleur-de-lis prints are a fantastic way to add something regal and classy to your powder rooms. Notice, once again, how she used white to brighten the area! It is a great idea to work with the pattern and the space to brighten it up! This slightly-textured wallpaper is a great edition to a room that you want to feel a little more urban and gritty. Notice how the cracking pattern is replicated in the granite counter top of the sink. Remember - a truly great interior design comes from the little details. Once again we have a similar design, but this is overall warmer and more bright than the other bathrooms we've seen. By picking a warmer wallpaper, it allowed Vicki to use darker finished woods and frames to create a more complex, rich look. You'll notice how the wallpaper picks up the light around the sinks and then goes darker the further away it gets - that can completely change the look of your wallpaper! This final bathroom set up is a great way to incorporate a rich, intricate pattern while still keeping color to a minimum. Notice how the pattern almost seems to fade into the granite - a great, chic look overall! This final look, while not a bathroom, is definitely a favorite. Creating an accent wall in the dining room is perfect for any lady (or man!) who lunches. This wallpapers appears to have buildings on it, and almost resembles a window to the outside world. You will notice how she matched the decor to the wallpaper, but added subtle pops of color here and there to add some dimension to the room. ----- Adding fun, colorful, or patterned wallpaper to a room is a great way to change the entire aesthetic of the room and create a unique space.
